ISLAMABAD,Jul 27: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani chaired a conference on energy to discuss all aspects of the power shortage and to evolve measures to tackle energy crisis in the country in which it is decided to continue to observe measures of closure of markets at 8pm and two-weekly holidays in government offices till Octorber 31. ACs in government offices would not be opened before 11am.
All the four chief ministers attended the conference in which effectiveness of energy conservation measures adopted few months ago was discussed. It was told in the meeting that 1500 MW electricity was saved due to energy conservation plan. As loadshedding duration during the last three months has been curtailed, so it is decided in the meeting to observe energy conservation measures for next two months.
The PM instructed the CMs for making conservation measures more consistent to have visible impact in the situation on ground.
