Rains lash parts of country; Flood victims await aid

 ISLAMABAD,Jul 27 : Monsoon spell continued lashing most parts of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and northern areas and flood victims of Punjab, Balochistan await aid
According to Meteorological office, the rain spell will continue for next two days whereas rain with thundstorm is expected in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, Kashmir, eastern parts of Balochistan and Hazara division.
Met office also issued new advisory for floods and rains that predicted floods in storm drains and lakes in Gujaranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan after rains expected in these areas.
The rainfall recorded during last 24 hours was Balakot 71 mm, Rawlakot 21 mm, Sialkot 64 mm, Dir 25 mm, Kohat 32 mm, Muzaffarabad 35, Karachi 39mm, Mitthi 32 mm, Nawabshah 17 mm and Thatta 13 mm.
According to Met office, sporadic rains will continue in Sindh including Karachi till Thursday.The flash floods affected various areas in Punjab and Balochistan with the flood wave including Naseerabad and Jafarabad brought havoc in the areas.
Another town in Rajanpur district submerged as the embankment in the area breached.
 The flood-affected areas remained cut off on fourth consecutive day. The flash flood triggered Saturday destroyed huts and mud houses in Naseerabad, Rabi Canal, Akhtar Rasul Mengal, Mir Mohammad, Wadera Ghulam Hussain Bugti and dozens other villages, leaving people without shelter. -UNS
